Highly Favoured!!!

Exo 3:21-22
21 “And I will make the Egyptians favorably disposed toward this people, so that when you leave you will not go empty-handed. 22 Every woman is to ask her neighbor and any woman living in her house for articles of silver and gold and for clothing, which you will put on your sons and daughters. And so you will plunder the Egyptians.”

Why do you think it was women who were asked to go and ask  their neighbors for articles of silver and gold for the plundering of Egypt, a recompense for their labours and to facilitate the worship of their God? I think the answer can be found in a word in the preceding verse which talks about favour, it means to me that women are fashioned to be highly favoured of God. No wonder the bible says he who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains (there's that word again) FAVOUR from the Lord, it means then(to my mind) that women have a very vital role to play in the prosperity or otherwise of their husbands and family. In  my opinion, it is given  to us to receive favour on their behalfs. May we as wives and   mothers rise up to our God given strengths and be what he has called us to be indeed!!!!

Bible in 90 days day 3 -Joseph Joseph!

pix from askeugene.wordpress.com

Reading through the life of Joseph in the bible makes for quite an interesting read, the story flows so easily you almost want it to keep going as you go through the chapters no wonder Preachers have a field day drawing sermons and messages from these pages... its amazing and it just brings to bear the wisdom of God in all things, especially in bringing His plans for our lives to pass. you know you have a vision, or you have a word of where you are headed but life's circumstances seem like they are taking you in the opposite direction while in reality they are actually leading you to your place of destiny, wow! Joseph's brothers thought they would get rid of him and be done with the pestering little dreamer, little did they know that they actually gave him the first step towards the achievements of those dreams, there was no way it would have come to pass if he had remained in his doting father's bosom, now he got to the land of his slavery and rather than be allowed to enjoy his life of servitude quietly and humbly, Nooooo Potiphar's wife had to take a fancy to him. but then again she was another Pawn in this chess game, she was to be used to get him to go to prison, yeah okay so while there he comes across the two members of Pharaoh's staff did them favors(okay so maybe only one looked like a favor, after all the other had his head taken off!) but was forgotten by the one who could have helped him get out of prison, but it was only for a while he the cup bearer was yet another pawn in the game, and the fact that he forgot to mention Joseph immediately was just that it was not the right time for that pawn to be moved. i say that because if he had done anything at that time the best that could have happened probably was to have Joseph reinstated as Chief servant in Potiphar's household or maybe get him a higher servants position in Pharaoh's palace. but Nope that was not the plan so he needed to forget about him until the time was right. and hmm when the time came, of course remembrance came. it kind of reminds me how i came to meet with my husband of 10 years now, suddenly in my life it seemed like all hell had broken loose i had no job, no money i was kicked out of where i lived, and there seemed to be no place to turn to i was totally down but then if all of that had not taken place i would not have been where i was at the time i saw a job advertisement that gave me the job i was working at and if i was not there i would not have been behind the desk i was when a young man who had just been employed himself  walked in and....... 11 years later, here i am... if we all take a look into our lives we would find that they are full of such stories of things taking a sudden turn for the worse only to turn out that it was for our ultimate good! and you know the best part of Joseph's story is it also was for the good of these brothers who meant him so much harm. they better have been glad he didn't bear any grudges(well that's a matter for another post)!!!!

Bible in 90days day 2-Align that Vision!

Gen 24:60 They gave her this blessing as she parted:
“Our sister, may you become
    the mother of many millions!
May your descendants be strong
and conquer the cities of their enemies.”

How important do you think it is as women for our visions to align with that of our husbands or husbands-to-be? Rebekah was being married into a family that had a huge proclamation of blessings and visions upon their lives they were walking in and passing on what we know as the blessing of Abraham found in
Gen 12:1 The Lord had said to Abram, “Leave your native country, your relatives, and your        father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you. I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others. I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. All the families on earth will be blessed through you.”
  and
Gen 22:
17 I will certainly bless you. I will multiply your descendants[a] beyond number, like the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will conquer the cities of their enemies. 18 And through your descendants all the nations of the earth will be blessed—all because you have obeyed me.”
Now this blesisng that was being proclaimed on Rebekkah seems to be an echo of the one God had proclaumed on abraham and which Isaac had entered into and was also walking in. it became their purpose and mission in life to fulfill what had been proclaimed over their lives. I believe that for every family there is a vision and a mission to be accomplished. so its necessary for me as a woman to first and foremost be aware of what i carry so i can make an informed decision of who to marry. because if our portfolios don't align we can't function correctly together (can two walk together except they be agreed?) !!!

Bible in 90 days day 2- Chosen for a purpose!

Genesis 18:19

New Living Translation (NLT)

I have singled him out so that he will direct his sons and their families to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just. Then I will do for Abraham all that I have promised.”

A lot of us sit and imagine: why was i chosen? why did God call me? of all the people that were in my family, my situation, my environment, why me in particular?well! don't search any further here it is whatever the Lord does He does for posterity, it doesn't end with you its about the train or long chain of people who have their destinies attached to you . its because as He said to Abraham, He knows that you have it in you to keep His name going, to tell others about Him to teach people about Him whether they be your physical children or not. Abraham did not even have a physical child for a very long time yet God said He chose him because he would direct his sons and families to keep His ways. so that tells me that his slaves and visitors and all that ever came around him and heard him talk about his God, where considered his children. God expects the same from us

that's why He chose us. that's the purpose we must accomplish to see that those who are called our children learn about our God, and learn to keep His ways by doing what is right and just!!!

Bible in 90 days day1- God had said

Gen 12:1 The Lord had said to Abram, “Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you.

Pix from stampinwithjulie.blogspot.com
I underlined the words 'had said' because that's my point of emphasis. God had spoken to Abram before now he was not just hearing this instruction it had come at an earlier time. but he did not act on it only until after the death of his father did he fall back on an instruction he had been given . I wonder what caused him to delay that obedience, could it be his brother's death that had occurred earlier?or possibly the brother had been sick before he died and Abram couldn't have thought of leaving at that time it would have been considered callous of him, or was it because he needed to stay behind and help his grieving aging  father, now that there were just two of them left? they needed to pull more weights around the house? or was it that he needed to complete the marriage rites with Sarai. or again was it just good old fear of the unknown? hmmm i read this verse and pondered how many of us have heard one specific instruction or the other from the Lord but for one "genuine" reason or the other we have failed to act on what we have heard. there are businesses we know we should have started long ago(guilty as charged) there are places we know we should have been, people we should have spoken to, or even prayers we should have prayed but we allow our unwanted friend fear to paralyze us and keep us from doing that which the Lord has spoken to our hearts we are waiting for a great sign. hmm i say lets not wait till we are stripped of our seemingly prized possessions until we come to the place empty before we move to obey, rather as we receive the instructions lets be bold enough to trust that the one who has spoken is faithful to bring it to fruition all He wants is our complete obedience!!!

Lord make me a doer of your word and not just a hearer! help me to have complete obedience that i might eat of the good of the land!http://stampinwithjulie.blogspot.com/2010/06/salt-challenge-obedience.html

Bible in 90 days-Day 1

Reading for day 1-  Gen1:1- Gen 16:16

My glimpse
 Gen 2:10-14
10 A river flowed from the land of Eden, watering the garden and then dividing into four branches. 11 The first branch, called the Pishon, flowed around the entire land of Havilah, where gold is found. 12 The gold of that land is exceptionally pure; aromatic resin and onyx stone are also found there. 13 The second branch, called the Gihon, flowed around the entire land of Cush. 14 The third branch, called the Tigris, flowed east of the land of Asshur. The fourth branch is called the Euphrates
-
there was one river the bible says which then divided into four branches. these four new rivers or branches, where from the same original source. a river is usually surrounded by fruitful trees and plants, it usually means that the surrounding lands will be fruitful.  yet of the four, only one (Pishon which flowed through Havillah) in the bible is recorded as being fruitful. the bible says in verse 11 and 12 that gold is found in that land and not just gold but pure gold, it also says that aromatic resin and onyx are also found there. i wondered then is it not the same river that flowed through all four lands, how come the other three could not record any bringing forth?  now these four lands can be likened to us all and the rivers the flow of the holy spirit within us.   we all have received from the same source. the same spirit, the same measure of faith, yet only a few, a handful of us will yield ourselves to the softening of the waters of the spirit, to the penetration of his personality, in order that we might produce gold, and precious stones for our Lord. others will be barren. my prayer is Lord help me to be among them who will yield , who will be fruitful for you,let me not be a barren land but a fruitful one bringing forth gold , onyx precious stones and even fruit in my season may my leaves never wither because i am rightfully positioned and allowing you to flow through me as you will!
